Fees & Insurance
Fees: We are committed to helping all in need of counseling and guidance regardless of their ability to pay. Our Well Fund is available to provide fee-assistance to those who cannot afford the full fee for individual, couple, marital, family, and group counseling sessions. As a Well-Fund recipient, the fee is adjusted for our counseling services based on income and number of dependents (including caring for aging parents). The fee is discussed and agreed upon between you and your counselor, coach, or consultant during the first session and we welcome the opportunity to work with persons on an individual basis to determine an affordable fee.
Payment options: Payments must be made before counseling begins. Payments for Initial Consultations are required at least 48 hours prior to the requested appointment time in order for the appointment to be confirmed. This is the only session for which prepayments are required. We accept cash, check, and money orders. Please make checks and money orders are payable to Wells of Wholeness, Inc.® You may also make a payment online (credit card, debit card, or health savings card) through a secured PayPal link. Insurance: We currently accept insurance from the following healthcare provider organizations: Aetna, Amerigroup, Cigna, Humana, Medicaid Peach State, Qualcare, Tricare, United Healthcare, and Value Options. If your healthcare insurance provider is not listed, we can assist you with filing insurance paperwork for reimbursement by your insurance company for out-of-network behavioral health and mental health services. Please note that by using insurance, we will be required to provide a client mental disorder diagnosis to an insurance company, which can sometimes affect the ability to receive future treatment or purchase health insurance. Generally, third party coverage (i.e., insurance) does not cover counseling that is not diagnosis-driven such as pre-marital counseling because it is not considered to be a psychological illness that involves healing. This is usually the standard for medical insurance coverage, but please check with your insurance company as there may be some exceptions.
Questions to ask your insurance carrier: To determine if you have behavioral health or mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Usually, the member services phone number may be found on the front or back of your insurance card. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers. Below are some helpful questions you can ask your health insurance provider:
1. Does my healthcare insurance plan cover behavioral health or mental health counseling?
2. Does my healthcare insurance plan cover pre-marital or marriage counseling?
3. Are there specific kinds of therapy that my healthcare plan covers?
4. What is my deductible and has it been met?
5. What is my co-pay and is the coverage amount per therapy session?
6. How many therapy sessions per year does my healthcare plan cover?
7. How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
8. Is approval required by my primary care physician?
